With "Deathly Hallows 2" finally being out on DVD I would looooove to make a big epic Harry Potter vid, but everytime I get the urge to do it I remember "Marchin' On" and think, nope, it's been done before, I couldn't possibly beat that video. Ever.

I do not know of this Marchin' On! Link please?
I have to say one of my Ultimate Vid Ideas was my Harry/Draco vid which I sat on for about 10 years, but thankfully I actually managed to do that this year, so I can cross it off my list and feel pleased. ;D

It is here. It's only on YT (and some other streaming site), sadly, which means I had to get a poor soul to DL it for me I watched this last December--I hadn't been in HP fandom for a long while and this video brought it all back to me, all the emotions, the love, the magic. Funny how a vid can do that to you You did? Did you post it? I must have missed it *sadface*

I feel like there's room for more than one sprawling epic vid, especially for an eight-movie source like HP. I don't have a specific ultimate idea, but at some point after I've worked on other vid styles for a bit I would like to make one of my typical action-y rock vids that actually strikes the right balance between narrative and pretty. 'Tis something I feel I haven't really done since my last BSG vid. I'd also like to someday do a mixed-source comic/live-action vid, but still haven't found quite the right subject matter. I almost considered doing it for Watchmen but that movie was *too* close to the comic - it'd have felt like cheating.

I feel like there's room for more than one sprawling epic vid, especially for an eight-movie source like HP. Agreed. I liked that vid, but yeah, with so much source, I think there are various approaches you could take with an epic ensemble vid. legoline - yeah, I posted the Draco vid a few weeks ago, you can find it here. dragonchic - I always figured going back to action, with added emotion/narrative, was your ultimate plan. I'm very much looking forward to that day. And mixed-source would be awesome and I would vote Watchmen, because at least I'd know what's going on. I had an idea of an Adrian vid with comic inserts from Tales of the Black Freighter, but haven't seriously thought about making a Watchmen vid since I saw yours. No point.

My insanity/epic/ultimate vid would be a series of vids. Basically, I feel that every song on Gravity Kills self-titled CD is viddable, so I wanted to make a continuous "vid" that had all the songs in order. The bigger problem comes where not all the fandoms are the same. I've made two vids already; one for Sentinel and one for Brimstone. Supernatural, Smallville and Buffy would fit some of the others. I don't have them all plotted out yet, but it is the Ultimate Plan. Has anyone ever tried to vid an entire CD before? If so, was it all in one fandom?
Another I attempted and abandoned (but want to get back to) is Geeks Get the Girls by American Hi-Fi multimedia. I'm sure it's been done before, but my attempt was a few years ago.

The "been haunting me for years" song is Twilight Zone by Golden Earring. I WANT THIS VIDDED but I don't have a good fandom that fits the lyrics. I've toyed with the idea of La Femme Nikita, but I don't have the source and I haven't even watched all the episodes. I hate having a great song and no fandom to fit it

I feel like there's room for more than one sprawling epic vid, especially for an eight-movie source like HP. Probably. Ah one day, if I ever find a good song. @ obsessive24 Ahhh, thank you! @ kronette That's amazing idea. Not sure if it's been done before. To have it all from one fandom would be the kicker, of course, but I suppose multiple ones could work, too

Kronette - Luminosity vidded the Beatles album Abbey Road to BTVS. Look up Scooby Road if you're interested. I don't know if anyone else has done it though. Even though someone's done it before, I still think your idea is unique enough, and I like the idea of using different fandoms.

Great ideas everyone! I also have one insane/epic/ultimate vidding idea, which is similar to kronette's idea. I really want to make a series of Merlin vids for all the songs of The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table by Rick Wakeman. After season 5 will be aired, hopefully I will able to do it. ;D

@ valika oooh, cool idea! I'd be tempted to do the same, albeit with Heather Dale's "Avalon"

I've always wanted to do an album of vids, too! I really wanted to do Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons, but there are so many M&S vids that I feel like it wouldn't be all that original. Maybe if another album re-inspires me, I'll try it out sometime.
Right now my ultimate vid idea is classic female Disney characters bravely overcoming their obstacles and being strong female role models (pretty much just emphasizing what classic Disney is all about, but hopefully expanding on it a little more). I have the perfect song in mind for it, now I just need to find the time to clip ~30 Disney movies and put it together.

The first idea that got me interested enough in vidding to spend days trying to figure out the tech side was an epic Gaius Baltar vid set to Bohemian Rhapsody.
I haven't attempted it because a) I'm still very new to vidding, and I think I need a few smaller scope vids under my belt before I attempt a six-minute iconic song, and b) uh, Bohemian Rhapsody. Seriously?
The very idea seems completely ridiculous, yet I am so in love with it, I cannot let it go.
(On a related note, does anyone know if this has already been done? I have searched, but have come up empty handed.)
