I'm really enjoying my Festividding this year! I've finished my assignment and am about 3/4 done on a treat, and the bit still to do is an easy part. I'm really happy with what I've done so far, especially the completed vid which came together so much faster than I had hoped. I've struggled so hard on so many vids, this was a complete joy to make. It just fell into place. I don't normally get to say that, so I'm going to enjoy the moment.  |

I finished my assignment and one treat is practically done I had another treat finished, but now I have this idea and I'll try to re-do it. If it works: great, if not I can use the first version which is perfectly fine, but I feel like I have to try this other idea... I had (and still have) so much fun this year! Because we're about 18 hours ahead in NZ (so 6 hours behind, but tomorrow) I usually wake up well after the announcement, but the party goes on for hours - if I remember right, last time it was still going late afternoon, my time. As for chat, I use a Firefox add-on if I'm on the computer (chatzilla). You just type "/attach irc.sff.net" (without the ") into the box at the bottom, wait for it to connect, then choose one of the drop down menus at the top - I don't remember the name, but it's the one with the "join channel" option. Click that option, then find #vidding in the list of rooms that comes up, click it, and you're in. On a mobile device, try Colloquies. Not sure about Android but it is available for iPad and iPhone. I'm sure there are several IRC chat apps available if your device doesn't support it. To use it, add a new connection. The address is irc.sff.net and the room is #vidding. Pick the nickname you want to use, and you're good to go. Then you can come play guess the Festividder with us! |

Thanks littleheaven! I finally discovered the Chatzilla add-on a few days ago, after having little success with other clients (mostly due to my own impatience with reading instructions, I suspect).
I'm excited for golive! Just to check: by party, do you mean the chat room? Or are there other things going on?

So guess what I've been doing all night? It's 9 am here and I haven't slept yet, but IT'S FINISHED. I had a crap ton of technical difficulties on the home stretch and I kinda feel like never opening Vegas again, but I'm so relieved it's done and I can look forward to Golive!
