I think Glee made it in, a couple of years back.  I've done all my nominations. As usual I've nominated Game On, How I Met Your Mother, Flight Of the Conchords and Two Guys A Girl & A Pizza Place (the latter of which has FINALLY come out on DVD). I've also nominated Storm Chasers for a second time. If I could only nominate one fandom, that would be the one. Some kid's shows... Fraggle Rock, Charlie & Lola. Most of the rest are movies. I've left Quantum Leap off this year, since my gift vid last year was so awesome, I fear any others would pale by comparison. If you can nominate shows that have had only 10 or less vids made in recent years, do you think Friends would qualify now? I'm tempted to delete one of my safeties to nominate it, if it would. |

So, is anyone else looking at the dispute lists going a) I hope that fandom won't get disputed for some reason ans b) I REALLY hope someone's actually request this because I'd just loooooooove to make that vid?

Yeah, I intervened on the Big Eden dispute because the nominator wasn't speaking up and I would love to see (or make!) that vid.

Yeah, I've got my eye on a couple of disputes as well. I'm also a bit...grumpy about the decision of including Superman Returns to the Christopher Reeves series because it uses the same timeline, but if it's the rules it's the rules, I guess  |

That is so impressive to me. I'll probably just do the assignment unless I get a bunny for something else. Or at least make sure I finish the assignment before starting any more! (Also, I realized yesterday that I had been a little confused by the process. I hadn't realized that nominations and requests were separate things. In particular I didn't get that one could request vids from fandoms they didn't nominate. I see it's explained very clearly in the fanlore.org entry, which I read several months ago and obviously forgot. Now I'm even more excited!) |

Is anybody else obsessively checking the fandom list for needy fandoms? My boyfriend and I both signed up, so we've been switching computers to check on the 'live' state of sign ups (with our requests included), which I'm not sure any more was a great idea - I feel like I'm spoiling myself, given that most of my 'red' requests are probably more 'no offers' than 'more requests and fewer offers'. And yet, I can't stop myself!

I tried to convince myself that I wouldn't be able to participate, but now I'm on the verge of clicking the Sign Up button and I feel a bit ill with excitement, to be honest. Heh. I'm just completely unsure about how easy it will be for me to work with a deadline. But I'd love to be a part of it.  Also, a question - I read the guide, but I'm still confused. Is it possible to get matched to more than one recipient? Does it depend on how many fandoms I offer? And what's a normal amount of fandoms to offer? There are so many vids I'd be interested in making that I'm starting to wonder if I'm insane. |

No, you'll only get matched to one recipient, regardless of how many fandoms you offer. Basically, at the end of the process, everyone makes and receives one vid. Of course, you can then choose to do other vids as treats, but all you're actually committed to is a one-minute (minimum length) vid in the fandom you are assigned, which will be one of the ones you've offered. You must offer a minimum of 4 fandoms. There's no limit to how many you can offer, but you have to be prepared to vid any one of them, so my suggestion is choose carefully. I've offered eight this year. If you're nervous about getting a vid done in time, offer only safety fandoms (those with less than 180min of source). I have to admit, I'm already working on my first vid. I've offered it, so if I get assigned it, that's great, if not I have a recipient I can give it to as a treat. I saw it on the list and decided I must do it, regardless.  |
