Some of us will have known each other for a long time and some of us not at all. Don't be shy, come introduce yourself and make new friends! To start things off, I'm Nicky. *waves* I've been vidding on and off for about 7-8 years and my vids can be found at obsessive24.net, or follow the new vids tag on my Livejournal. I work in finance in London and the thing that I most want right now is a husky puppy.

Hi. I am Nos, sometimes known as bloodypoetry when Nos is already taken. I am a mother of three, huge geek, and writer that gets barely enough paid work to qualify as such. I've been Vidding for going on ten years now, but only recently have I really gotten the hang of it. In the past I really only vidded BtVS, with a focus on Spike (I am a sucker for skinny guys with long coats apparently), but have recently begun Vidding Doctor Who. I work with Adobe Premiere CS4, and likely only use about 10% of the program, and probably do it the hard way. My latest noted accomplishment was opening After Effects and NOT fleeing in abject terror, instead making a glowy thing for five seconds of clip. I likely could not repeat it if I tried.
But anyhow, happy to be here. I enjoy interacting with other vidders. Side note: This forum works well on my Droid. Expect crazy autocorrect typos if I am in a hurry.

hey I'm Xandra. xandra-ptv on lj, xandra on dw, owner of idaresay.net . formerly of "The Power That Vids". I've been vidding since I my x-files days back in the 90s, got a fresh restart with BTVS & ATS in 2002. I'll vid just about anything now days. finding music is the hard part for me. I'm a PC, adobe premiere cs4 user. These days I'm completely co-dependent with vidder Astarte, my wife and mistress. We collaborate on mutli-fandom vid and dare each other into vid challenges (this X-Files one might kill me). Warning: we get a little rambunctious on forms. Non-vidding, I'm a computer tutor and a writer.

Why hello.
I'm gnattery, gnattitude, gnat, other variations on that theme, notarealverb on LJ, and also sometimes Courtney in real life. I've been vidding for about two years now. I've only completed two vids, but I hope to improve on that soon. I'm a terrible lurker on LJ and in most places, but I've been trying to get over my shyness and really meet people instead of just admiring from afar.
I'm 23 years old currently, subject to change without notice. I'm studying Computer Science at uni at the moment, which is why I don't have nearly as much time for vidding as I wish I did. I'm planning to learn some ruby on rails over the summer and hopefully start doing some coding over at AO3, that would be pretty great.
I'm vidding with Sony Vegas Pro 9, but I've been planning to try out Premiere for a while now. Totally. Next vid. Definitely. Promise.
I hang out on #vidding when I can, and I love talking to other vidders who are way more experienced than me. A lot of the time I can see that there's *something* wrong with my vid, and I just wish I could ask someone for advice on what it is and how to fix it. I'd love if I could get that from this place. In return I'll give you... free ranty tirades? I'm good at those. I just wanna talk to people who have this interest instead of getting weird looks.
My first love was BVTS, and I'm currently watching a lot of things, but I'm falling pretty hard for Doctor Who.

Hi there! I'm China (china_shop on LJ and DW). I've been vidding for two years now and have finished 26 vids, about two-thirds of which are White Collar. (I read a bunch of meta early on including someone saying that it was a good idea to work from different sources to keep from getting stale, so I try to make sure at least one in three of my vids is something else. Festivids helps.) I use Sony Vegas 9 and I lurrrve it! My vids are on my LJ/ DW (and on AO3 along with a ridiculous amount of fanfic). I'm a forty-something Kiwi and atm I'm pretty much a full-time fan (due to boring health stuff). I've always been monofannish for fic-writing, so it was exciting to find I can vid outside my fandom. It's like a whole new world! :-)

I am shy! But also tend to talk way too much once I get started.
I'm killabeez on LJ/DW, and Killa if you go back before that. (Killashandra if you go waaaay back to the dawn of internet fandom.) I'm 41 and live in Seattle, and have been vidding since it became possible to do so on a PC. (Tried the 2-VCR method, discovered it was HARD.)
I haven't vidded much in recent years, but last time I counted (around 2005) I had made or helped make over 100 vids, so it's... more than that now. Since the advent of YouTube, I haven't made much of an effort to share my vids. RL has made me lazy when it comes to vidding, I'm afraid. But the spark of love for vidding as a craft is still there, and I hope that hanging out here will encourage me to devote a little more time and thought to it. I always vid(ded) best with another person (or more than one!)

Hi, I'm Claire, littleheaven70 on LJ, littleheaven at Dreamwidth, LittleClaire_70 on Twitter. Those of you who already know me will probably know that I am a single Mum to a little boy, and that I lost my husband to cancer this year. Hence no vidding has occurred of late. I started vidding in 2003 and have made maybe 15 vids in total, as it seems the more I learn, the slower I get! Plus, RL stuff keeps getting in the way. Most of my vids are in the BTVS/Angel fandom, though I have also vidded Firefly, Stargate, Scrubs, Ghost Hunters and a couple of movies. I mainly use Sony Vegas, currently Platinum HD 11 version, though I have also used Premiere Pro CS4 on my Mac and have recently purchased Adobe Elements for Mac. In my non-vidding life I am a "print procurement specialist" for a financial services company which means I work with graphics files and send lots of things to printers to be made into brochures and forms. I am learning InDesign as part of my job, since it means I can make minor changes to artwork instead of annoying the proper designers. That's about it. I'm looking forward to hanging out with everyone and shooting the sh1t

Hi everybody, I've been roaming LJ for about eight years now using this nick, but people call me Steffi. I'm fairly new to vidding. I dabbled a little in vidding a few years ago when I was still in SPN fandom and only had Movie Maker, and after having received a few comments of the "What does this vid even MEAN?" kind I got really shy and self-conscious and stopped vidding. Recently though, I've given it another go because I had some ideas that just wouldn't let me be. And this time, I am meant to do it properly--you hear me, SonyVegas, Virtual Dub Mod and Avidemux? MWUAHAH. I've only finished three "proper" videos ( AO3/ LJ ) so far but it's really fun and I'm also signed up for Festivids (oh my). I'm a 29-year old geek from Germany who loves Doctor Who, Merlin, Southland, Castle and lots of sci-fi as well as more period drama & UK telly shows than is probably good for her. I also love reading and photography, and I'm also an avid filker. I play the guitar, mandolin, ukulele and pennywhistle as well as the recorder. I love music

Hi everyone, I'm lilly_the_kid on lj and dw (though I only really use lj at the moment). My vids can be found here at my vid tag. I've been vidding for about two years now and I've vidded various sources, such as Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, The Good Guys, Touching Evil (US), Stargate SG1, Hawaii Five-0, The Vampire Diaries, Starsky & Hutch, Wilby Wonderful, Profit and Reservoir Dogs. I love watching vids and I always try to comment on vids I like but I'm also a bit shy sometimes. I'm looking forward to working on that though I signed up for festivids again this year and I'm really excited about it. Right now I'm having lots and lots of vid ideas which is awesome because there's so much vidding to look forward to.

Hello all! (and thanks to Nicki for setting up this board)
I vid as Eunice and am on LJ as fan-eunice where you can find my vids under the 'my vids' tag. Been doing this since 2000, started in the Buffy fandom as part of a vidding pair, though those early vids are no longer online. These days I lean towards vidding Doctor Who and a lot of movies and stuff. Don't have as many vids to my name as you'd think given how long I've been doing this, but I tend to vid SLOW.
38 years old (39 in March), and live up in the wild mountains of Colorado sharing space with an adorable niece and nephew, two dogs, occasional cows, and sometimes a bear.

I'm valoise (also valoise on lj) and I've been vidding for a few years. I started vidding Highlander in 2007 and have drifted into a few other sources since then, mostly small fandoms no one else vids, it seems. I've been to Vividcon once, would love to go back if only the timing works out. Currently I'm working on a festivid and a multi source vid for a vid show at the Peter Wingfield Fan Club con next March. And I've got a couple more ideas stirring for after that.
In everyday life I'm an archivist at a Presidential library and keep planning, and failing, on seriously getting back into researching culinary history.

Hi everyone I'm Jaz, winter_jasmine on LJ and various other places. A chronic lurker trying to change my ways I'm a Brit, in my late twenties, and have been vidding for a couple of years. I've completed a couple of vids in that time in various fandoms - Farscape, Torchwood, and Star Trek (2009). I'm a mac user, currently using MactheRipper or Handbrake, MPEG Streamclip and iMovie HD. Looking to move to Final Cut Express as soon as I can secure a copy on ebay. I'd go straight to FCPX but my system performance isn't good enough to run that. I've mostly been vidding in a bubble due to a combination of not knowing how to share my vids effectively, and also a little trepidation at the idea of releasing the vids into the wild Also been known to write fanfic, although less so now I've passed through the angst-ridden uni years Will write when inspiration strikes, unless it's November in which case will write until I've reached the wordcount for NaNoWriMo. (So far behind right now ) Other stuff I love to do: reading; walking; horse riding; watching F1; and indulging in watching my favourite shows - Farscape, Firefly, Torchwood, Doctor Who, Merlin, Downton Abbey, Spooks, Smallville, Prison Break, Harry Potter, LotR, BSG, Being Human, Numb3rs, Robin Hood (2006), TXF and too many more Looking forward to learning from more experienced vidders and improving my own technique in the process. Jaz

Hello all, I'm Recycled Media Station, recycledmedia on LJ and DW. Been vidding for about 10 years (along with Digiray) in Starsky & Hutch, Professionals, Sentinel, Due South, Stargate, and some one-offs. It's been a few years since I've done much vidding due to health issues. I keep trying to get back into it, but let other things get in the way. Think maybe I'm afraid I can't do it any more. Our earlier vids would certainly be improved by re-editing so please be kind. I'm more satisfied with the last set we completed. They (approx 50) can all be found at www.southroad.com/rms with download links. We use Sony Vegas. I'm very much into Merlin, Sherlock (both movieverse and BBC), and the rest just slipped right out of my head... Trying to rejoin the living while staying close to the shadows.

Hi everyone! I'm loving these mini-bios and feeling as though I know you better already. It's nice to be able to put some personal facts against each name. I know I've said this elsewhere, but please please please feel free to start up new threads and conversations, whatever strikes your fancy. The intention to set up this forum is to have a casual place where you can talk about whatever is on your mind about vidding and the community (or any other off-topic-ness), so make yourself at home.
