@ winterjasmin: Most of the vids I've edited in my head never make it on the timeline, because it turns out that in my head I have footage that does not actually exist. Story of my life! It's so sad.

Hi, I'm rhoboat (rho for short). I started vidding in 2006 when Jagwriter78 pulled me in. I started within Farscape fandom, and then I quickly moved on to Doctor Who. And now I can say that vidding itself has become my main fandom. My vids are easiest to find at my LJ/ DW, or at my website. I made a few vids with Ulead 9, and now I vid with Vegas, starting with version 6 and recently upgrading to Vegas Pro 9. I haven't had much time for vidding lately, but I do have lots of ideas (mostly Fringe), and I'm also getting really excited for Festivids.

obsessive24 (Nicky) Compared to WMM it's a dream - it has twice the number of video tracks i.e. 2 ;-) but I find some of the effects a little clunky (alas no rainbow transition) but other than that it's easy to use and rarely crashes, which compared to WMM was a constant trial.
I love some of the effects Sony Vegas vidders use so if I get the opportunity I may give it a go.

Hi, I'm Em/thatyourefuse (carla/carla_scribbles/Charlotte if you go back a few years; I'm one of those people who seems to exist in a perpetual cloud of shed pseudonyms, not for reasons of drama but just because I get bored of them. I think this one's stable, though).
I'm working on my first vid. Or, you know... trying to figure out which of my nine hundred thousand ideas is going to end up BEING my first vid.

(alas no rainbow transition) Nooooo! That's a deal breaker for me! I've really loved Vegas since moving over. The effects work is certainly a lot simpler than Premiere 6.5. Hi rho and Em! Welcome Em - how went the one you were considering POV for over on Vidding a while back?

I'm still working on it; I picked the worst (read: plot-densest) kind of source to start with, but I'm about one minute and a lot of denouement shy of a Bad Draft and I don't entirely hate it. Which I suppose is all that can be asked.

It sounds rather promising from what I've seen and what you're saying!

thedothatgirl - (I used to think your name did have something to do with hats. ;D) Just wanted to mention that if you ever make the switch to Vegas, a lot of those effects you see Vegas users use aren't exactly presets like they are in Ulead. But I do find Vegas far easier to use than Ulead overall.

Hi all! *waves*
I'm ua (ua_the_terrible on LJ/DW) and I'm pretty new to fandom. I attended my first VividCon this past summer (\o/), so some of you might know me from there. I don't have any completed vids yet, but I'm hoping to have something done soon. I'm currently sitting on a few partially completed vid drafts that mostly make me scratch my head and think, "Huh, that's real bad," but with a little luck and less schoolwork, I'll have something done soon.
Right now I'm a 2nd year MA student in English literature, and I'm mostly just keeping my fingers crossed to, after I graduate, get one of those jobs that pays money.
My active fandoms right now are: Farscape (I've never seen it before but now I can't stop watching! Weee!), Community, Friday Night Lights, Castle, Grimm, and Once Upon a Time. I know, that's a lot, but I need something to stop me from doing school work!
I'm really excited about this forum and the vidding discussions that are happening!

Hi, I'm Barkley. I've been vidding for ten years now and my vids are here: www.bonuspoints.net/vids/index.html. I write code for a living (when I'm not on the phone) but that still doesn't mean I can figure out how to leave a link on this forum. I've been working a lot this past year which has severely cut into my vidding time. But now I've been pretty free the past few weeks and I am now spending my time torn between wanting to watch everything and wanting to vid everything. Sometimes I want to vid things I haven't even watched yet. I love a deadline though, so Festivids will give me the necessary kick to actually vid some of this stuff I've been watching instead of just thinking about it.

rhoboat - ha! I know, that'll teach me to pick a weird name. It's good to see you here. Anyhoo some of the ULEAD effects are key frameable, some you take as they come which is the frustrating thing. I want to be able to tweek these and achieve more subtle effects.
