Instead of actually working on my festivid, I made a virtual festivid SNOWGLOBE. ;D Procrastination is the mother of invention. Or, more like, this is what happens when you leave me alone in a room with After Effects tutorials. fan-eunice.dreamwidth.org/283447.htmlYour snowglobe is beautiful/genius.

My festivid needs some final tweakage and somehow I can't be bothered too *sigh* I keep telling myself that I can try and apply astarte's tutorial on avisynth for the post-processing and that's kind of exciting, but still. Once it's finished it's finished and what if my recipient hates it?

euniceSo. Cute. This is why I'm happy people want to play with after effects, hee hee. legolineAww--you've got a little while. Even though they put up the submission boxes and are all scary (I have half a timeline? Almost?) you can take some time to kind of re-charge your vidding batteries. And I have a feeling that Festivids is the kind of thing where recipients are super happy with their vids just because they exist, you know? That's certainly what I was thinking with mine

Guyz, I'm such a festivids noob, I need help navigating the site? ;D I'm wandering around the site thinking about maybe making a treat if anything is suitabe, but I don't understand how it works. Where can I find a list of people who have asked for what fandom/song etc? Or is it a matter of hunting down Dear Festividder letters on people's individual journals? There must be a better way to do this.

I kind of want to make a treat, but I also want to make another vid for someone as a Christmas gift, and now I'm torn. I could attempt both, I suppose, though that would be madness ;D

Yesterday I got home, sat down, and made a 3-minute treat! In 4 hours! ;D It needs tweaking here and there, but is mostly done. That's the great thing about vidding movies. I feel really productive now.

So, just wondering--is anyone else looking at the festivid letters for treats going, "I want to make that one! And that one! AND THAT ONE! And...!" Besides the fact that I love making gifts and it's such a lovely idea it also gives you such a great excuse to vid all these tiny little fandoms--and people might even watch the vids, because it's festivids, so it's a thing. At this point, I have eight tabs open with possible treats. How do I decide?

LOL, yes. I have made one and thinking of making maybe one or two more. It's kind of addicting.
Well personally I go with whatever source that's easiest to vid. Just don't want to get myself into a position of tearing my hair out over something that's supposed to be a breeze. So I've ruled out anything that's not a movie, and pretty much the only movies in contension are the ones that are really visually dynamic. The other thing is that I've ruled out requests which are kinda specific, since I don't want into get into the headspace of doubting whether it met the requester's expectations or not.
Don't know if that will help narrow down your 8 tabs. ;D

Or just make ours (I only say this because my letter doesn't really exist, so you know I'm kidding)

After like ten different attempts I think I've finally got an audio edit for my Festivids treat that will work for my intended narrative. Almost feels like sacrilege because I took a song with an interesting unconventional structure and forced it into a more conventional flow, but oh well.

D'aww, audio sacrilege! I feel a spanking coming on! Knowing you, you're probably done by now.
