Just a random question: do you guys crosspost your vids to fandom-specific communities as well?

legoline - Generally yes, if I know of communities that allow for vid posting I do so and that way have reached a few people who do not follow the general vidding communities. However, with my festivids this year I haven't done so, because the communities I know of don't have vids posted/aren't really active/I haven't posted in before and I feel a bit weird about it.

I wouldn't know where to find fandom comms for mine! ;D I generally wouldn't bother for small fandoms, and festivids is of course by nature all small fandoms.

I did. One of my fandoms actually has a pretty active community going, but the other only has an actor comm. There were vids for his other projects though, so I didn't feel too weird about cross-posting mine this year. I don't think I cross-posted either of mine last year, however.

Oh, excellent! I've been on vacation the past week so naturally, I didn't have any time to crosspost my vids yet. Oy!

Watching almost all videos made for Festivids was a fantastic experience, not only for the joy and fun, but for a possibility to learn from other vidders, basically summing up: how to make awesome videos.
ANd yes, I still haven't finished watching ALL of them. *facepalm* I'm constantly busy, busy, busy.
Did any of you experienced the same as me? Did you learn any specific vidding related thingy while you were watching Festivids?

Not as such--I think--but this year was the first time I consciously watched out for style and I was amazed by how different they all were. Oh, here's one: I think the E.T. vid made me realise to give my videos more emotional punch, if possible, and try to include more objects, if I can--cause that flower bit makes me cry every time

In Say Anything it was the pen, in Singles the garage door opener, in Jerry Maguire the goldfish... Nicky did a great job of using a particular logo in a Firefly vid, that I'd never even noticed in the source until it was pointed out. Sometimes things can pack as big an emotional punch as people. *remembers crying like a baby all through Project X from the introduction of the stuffed toy*
