A whole box! Sounds really brilliant and luxurious for a special occasion. How much did it cost, if you don't mind my asking?
I'd actually just seriously started thinking about starting my own online designer handbag hire business. I think there's a gap in the market even with currently existing sites like FashionHire.co.uk. There are a lot of things to think about - initial capital outlays, insurance against loss/damage/failure to return, delivery logistics, advertising, whether to incorporate, register for VAT, etc etc etc, but it's actually something I'm really passionate about and being super capitalist I just love the basic idea of using a fixed asset to generate mostly-passive income. ;D Now I just have to talk myself into actually making it happen.

I have not heard of either of those two! Boo for being expensive though. Are you staying the night, or just there for one day only? If you're staying around late enough maybe we could catch up for dinner, although I expect you'd have lots of plans crammed into the day already. ;D I'm actually staying the night because I'm off to Grantham for the British Filk Convention the next day.  I'd love to have dinner with you but I'm not sure yet about managing timewise, as two of my London-based friends have offered to join me for the theatre (depending on the play) and if they tag along I'm not sure if I'm having dinner with them. I'll try to get things figured out this weekend/week Also? That business idea sounds fab ;D It's like in the Sex & the City movie! |

I'm going to a catered dinner with the stars of Starsky & Hutch next month. They'll be showing an episode and then there will be a question and answer session.

Looking forward to lots of things: - Festivids go-live!
- Escapade! - This will be my first one, and I'll be rooming with Talitha78. I also plan on premiering a vid. Thirty more seconds to go before the deadline on Monday.
- PaleyFest 2012! - I got tickets for The Vampire Diaries, American Horror Story, and Community.
- WonderCon! - This year, I don't have to miss it because it'll be held in Anaheim. WonderCon belongs in San Francisco (*sniff*), but I'm happy that I'll be able to attend.
- Purchases arriving in the mail! - I got three bottles of Zoya nail polish (in Audrina, Jana, and Pandora.) And this morning, I finally took the plunge and ordered my first pair of Frye boots (pic). I've been wanting a pair for nearly 10 years now.

Haha! wasn't rich afterwards Charmax ;-) There were four of us in a box and as far as I can remember Nicky (It was a few years ago) the figure £600 comes to mind (for the whole box) I could be wrong but I don't think it was less than that.
ETA: Love those boots Rhoboat - and those nailvarnishes - the fleck ones look like opals, which is really cool as opals are my favourites (after diamonds).

I`m looking foreward to a convention in September It`s a (tiny, tiny, tiny) Stargate/Star Trek con in Germany. One of the main guests (and my main reason to get a ticket in the first place) is Michael Shanks ...  I even managed to bag 1 (of 10) meet & greet tickets with Michael *thud* the other guests confirmed (so far) are from Stargate Atlantis. This Con, is heaven on earth for me, hehe. I love both, Stargate (Sg-1 more than SGA, but who cares, at the end it`s *my* Stargate) and StarTrek I`m also looking foreward to this event because I`m able to share it with two good friends of mine. One is a long time RL friend, the other I met online first, but by now we`ve met several times in RL already. We´re going to share everything. We`re going to start the trip to the Con at my place, and we`re going to end it at my place. Lucky me, most of the people I know in RL are as crazy as me when it comes with TV shows, fandom in general, and Cons. Being able to share this event with friends. that´s the most awesome thing. |

I'd be so keen to get this business started, but I think I need to find a partner first. It's too much to tackle on my own. This is when I need some SatC friends, dammit. tm - that sounds fab! Whereabouts is it? Charmax - Not as much as spendthrift as us, you mean. One of my resolutions this year is to cut down on discretionary spending, let's see how well that sits against my handbag fetish. Rho - so jealous that you're going to Escapade and rooming with Talitha! Looking forward to your con report.  Those nail polishes are brilliant! I'm kinda bowled over by the incredible range of colours on that site. And wheee! Frye boots! I don't know much about them but it seems like they have quite a cult following. Andrea - Expensive! Littleheaven here is the queen of meeting Michael Shanks so I'm sure she'll have tales to tell. And I totally agree, fannish events are soooo much better shared with friends. |

Don't expect him to be clean-shaven, he always looks like he's been dragged through a hedge backwards at the meet and greets I got to have brunch with him two days in a row in 2010, because he and Ben Browder were both supposed to come to New Zealand so I got tickets for each of their brunch events, then Ben had to pull out so Michael stepped in and did his brunch as well. I think he thought I was stalking him, LOL. He's a nice guy, though, and a REALLY good hugger. *swoon* Who from Atlantis and Star Trek are going to your con? It sounds like it will be great fun. |

littleheaven: I`ve heard a lot of things about the con in New Zealand. A friend of mine has been there, she said it`s been a Michael *overload*, haha. Not that she did mind, of course, because she is as much of a fan of him as I am. The last time I`ve met Michael Shanks was in Los Angeles in 2009. Before LA I`ve met him in Vancouner (twice) and Germany. I adore him, he`s just great. So far the guest list for the con includes Michael Shanks, Rachel Luttrell, Connor Trinneer, Torri Higginson and Julie Caitlin Brown. I don`t know how many guests they`ll have at the end, the only thing I do know is, they sell only 250 *ish* tickets for the con, this makes it extra special. I`m sure we`ll have a lot of fun (and by now another friend of mine bagged a ticket for the con also ;D)

I just signed a lease to a super gorgeous apartment in LA, so I'm really excited to move there in two weeks. I'm also really looking forward to Festivids go-live and Escapade. So many great things are coming up! |
