nos I was the biggest SPN fan in the world but I gave up at the beginning of season five. The writers managed to make me stop caring about any of the characters. It's a sad story I am mainly still watching for the incredible amount of meta (There was an episode called Slash Fiction, about a fangirl drugging Sam into marrying her. For serious.) and Misha Collins. Now that there is no Misha Collins, I think I might have to call it quits. elipie: I am seriously going to have to try to catch up on it then, I've heard a ton of good things about it.

nos: it was really the meta episodes that sort of pushed me away, really, starting with the first episode Chuck was in in season four. I heard Misha isn't in it anymore. Shame. Misha is awesome.

I enjoy the heck out of most of the meta episodes (Misha playing Misha was hilarious), and the one I mentioned above HAD to have been based on this crazy chick that goes around telling everyone her husband is the guy who plays Sam and the actual wife is a total fake.

I actually only really got into SPN in s4 once Mish... Castiel came in and they really got into the meta with The Monster At The End of This Book. But then s5 got too dreary and I stopped caring again. Now I only watch it for the funny bits, which don't happen so often now that Misha isn't there. I watched the pilot of Once Upon A Time and wasn't too into it, but assume it gets better.

I've decided to start watching Babylon 5, because I totally need another show to watch. >.>

I wasn't too into Once Upon a Time until the third episode. The fairy tale bits were a little too cheesy for me at first but fortunately they move away from endless declarations of love and more into intrigue and neat little twists.

I shall persevere, then. But first need to catch up on Covert Affairs, naturally. ;D

Anyone watching Grimm? It's a David Greenwalt show.

The name sounds familiar but I know nothing. What's it about?

From what I know (so far I've only seen about 30 min of the pilot) it's a crime-solving show, but the crimes are quite supernatural and are rooted in fairytale. The first one appears to be based on Red Riding Hood. It looked promising, and I wish I'd had time to watch more, but before I go out of my way to make time, I wondered what the hive mind thought.

Sounds kind of like SPN. I guess the success or failure of it would depend largely on the characters and cast. I'd be keen to check out a few episodes based on that description....

I'm not watching "Grimm" but so far I've only heard disappointed reviews. One issue I'd definitely have is that they make up German names and words for creatures and characters that don't make any sense. Like, no German would actually name things like they do on the show, and then they even mix-up the spelling and Umlauts etc. I get that German is a tricky language and it's probably just a pet-peeve but it feels like sloppy, lazy research and it would annoy me in whatever language. German just happens to be mine

I gave Grim a shot but the characters continued to seem cardboardy to me after the third episode so I gave up.

I tried Grimm but ended up less than enthused. If the show centered around the cop partner and the wolf guy, I think I might actually really enjoy it. But I find myself absolutely bored to tears by the lead. He's got, like, anti-charisma that sucks the life out of every scene he's in (which is almost all of them).
Is a shame because I was excited about having two very different takes on fairytales on my show roster.
Once Upon a Time these days sends me into an incoherent capslocking, hands flailing GLEE, covered with sparkly hearts. Easily still my hands down favorite of any of the new crop.
