I have recently started watching "Community" and have become pretty obsessed within the span of--oh, two minutes really. I'm up to early season three and I've started rationing the episodes to make the season last longer ;D

Haha, I went through the same thing with Community about a month ago!

It seems to be the general reaction people have with this show once they're hooked ;D I love Abed so much, and Annie. And...all of them. And Jeff just keeps getting hotter, how is this even possible?

I've just finished all three seasons of The Vampire Diaries, and really enjoyed it. How I Met Your Mother is always on my watching list, and I've just started True Blood. Late to every party, I am!

I keep wondering whether it's worth watching Vampire Diaries. How would you describe it?

Personally I really like it a lot and when I started watching I was pleasently surprised that I really truly enjoyed it. It was different from what I was expecting and from what I came to expect from cw shows. For example, the cast/number of regular characters is bigger. (This is all just my personal impression, of course.) There are many interesting characters, both male and female. But what I love the most is how fast the plot moves and how they're keeping it fresh and surprising (I haven't totally caught up with season three so far, just fyi). Sometimes it feels as if they do in one episode what could have lasted half a season or what I would have expected to last half a season from my previous experience with other shows. Hope this makes sense

I was pleasantly surprised with it. My sister got into it and convinced me to watch (as happened with BTVS). The first half of S1 is very tweeny - you need to be aware of that going in, and prepared to persevere to get to the really good stuff. Once it hits its stride, it really cranks (about ep 12 from memory). LOADS of plot twists, character development, mythology which has good continuity and builds upon itself (revealed bit by bit in flashbacks over the course of the seasons). Yes, it's a bit BTVS-esque, with the witch and the werewolf and the cheerleader and the evil vampire with a heart of gold (I won't give away who is who) but that didn't bother me too much. It's a nice big ensemble cast with characters I have become quite invested in. One of the girls at work got so worked up about an episode, she drove halfway across Auckland late at night in her jammies, just so she could OMG about it with one of the other girls at work, LOL.

If you approach the VD with the right attitude there is loads to enjoy, I find. I agree with littleheaven that it got off to a clunky start with iffy voiceovers and a world populated with stereotypical highschoolers - and vampires. But once it got into it's groove it became really entertaining. VD manages to be totally OTT most of the time and not take itself too seriously, but then switch to really affecting, touching dramatic moments, just before the plot bunnies come off their meds again and do somersaults. There is also some awesome eyebrow acting and snarky dialogue delivery by <s>Spike</s> Damon. If you check this out you should give yourself until the season 1 finale before making a decision.
