Escapade (also known as the Slash Slumber Party) will be held in Ventura, CA the weekend of February 24-26th 2012. This year, we'd like to have a strong vidding track, and are making plans for the Saturday night Premieres show. There will also be a new scholarship this year, in Sandy Herrold's name, specifically to bring a vidder to the con who might not otherwise be able to come. More about this soon! Post here to talk about ideas for the vidding track, or about the con in general. Are you a slash fan and a vidder or vid fan? Think you might be able to make it? I'll be there. I'd love to see more old-school happy-making slash relationship vids, because I think those have fallen by the wayside as people explore the possibilities of delivering messages by vidding. (Nothing wrong with that and I enjoy all kinds of vids, but as Escapade is the slash convention, I don't think political vids fit as well.)
That said, I don't even have a firm idea for a slash vid to bring, and my Festivid submission won't qualify. :/

I'd love to see more old-school happy-making slash relationship vids, Me too, because I always like seeing those! I also love seeing intense, angsty, funny, cracktastic, bittersweet, or challenging slash(y) vids. I'm going to work on my auction vid o' doom, but I also have this fantasy that on top of finishing that one, I'll also finish something else. Probably a pipe dream! But it hasn't stopped me from desperately trying to settle on a Duke/Nathan song. |

Well I'm definitely going and would love to see more vidding stuff. Hopefully I should have a slash vid as well. I don't have any specific ideas for the vidding track yet but I'll think about it.

One idea I had was to do a tech-room show of the slashy vids from VividCon and possibly Festivids. Also to maybe do an In-depth Vid Review type panel (also in the tech room) for two of them. Or, to do something like In-depth Vid Review for two of the premiering vids. I'm also interested (always!) in seeing a panel along the lines of Eunice's "Big Emotion" panel from last year. And, I'd really like to hear opinions on how the Premieres show is put together. How long should the show be? Should it be Premiering vids only, as it used to be? (I'm in favor of this, though would love to hear people's thoughts.) |

That's a neat idea and I think ties into some of the notions raised in the Feedback thread.
I wasn't gonna make an Escapade premiere, but a vid bunny grabbed me by the ears and I think it would be perfect for Escapade! ;D I'm hoping the timing etc will all work out.

I'm SO KEEN to start my Escapade premiere now, because I think the concept is nifty and will work well for a slash con, but I have no HD space so I'm going to have to force myself to deal with another couple of vids first to clear up space.  At least the deadline is far away. |

So excited to see what you have planned, obsessive24! I keep thinking I know what my Escapade premiere is going to be, but then a week after I'm set on one idea, Franzeska enables me to make something even more ridiculous than the previous idea, so I'm not really sure what's going to happen there.
