That seems sensible to me. Another option to consider is whether to have a dedicated public beta board, or whether each Public Beta thread will just go on the general vidding discussion board. I guess it depends on whether this practice is going to take off and lots of people are going to do it?

I think a dedicated public beta board is a great idea, but I don't have a very good idea of how many people would want to participate. (I know I would, but I don't tend to be representative, and I'd feel a little awkward somehow if it were just me.)

Maybe it would make sense to combine a public beta board with space for anyone wanting to do working example threads like Nicky has going at the moment? So like a 'Works in Progress' section or something.

I really like the idea of a public "Working Process/Works-in-Progress" board, since I think suchheights is right that there's a kind of affinity between the public beta idea and those threads. (which I've been reading avidly!) That way we could make separate threads for anyone who wants to do a public beta vid without overwhelming this board.

I like the idea of a "Works-in-Progress" category, too!
thatyourefuse -- Oh man, so, now just knowing even a couple more of the plot twists... this series sounds so ridiculous(ly awesome)! I'm glad my comments seem mostly on track, and I'll try to hunt you down on gtalk v. soon so we can talk the vid out a little more.

It is deeply and profoundly -- uh -- something. (I have the files. Obviously. Ahem?) I'm mostly around pretty reliably all the rest of this week, although there's a book signing I'm trying to decide whether I'm going to this Saturday, so whenever is good for you.

Unless anyone else thinks it would be confusing, I'd like to make a new thread on the WIP board for future beta work on "Jacob Marley's Chain," but it's obviously up to the people I'm working with.

In any case, sounds good to me at least, and it would keep everything in one place and help free up this thread for beta-seekers and general discussion and things.
