I'm Franzeska, or Franzi in person, usually. Yes, that's my real name. (Hi, Mom.) I work in finance too. though I'll be moving this summer, and I don't know if I can work remotely. My name is pretty uncommon. If you see it online, that's usually me. (Except for Tumblr. Weird.) I'm 30. I got into vidding a bit over a year ago (after being in fandom since ~1994). I was reading the first volume of the Film Noir Reader, and the article on neo-noir in Miami Vice inspired me to watch the show. Michael Mann's somewhat *ahem* overt shooting and editing style inspired me to finally try vidding. I have a lot of Opinions, especially about music choice and demographics. My vids are scattered all over, mostly on my Dreamwidth or LJ coms or AO3. I started out with iMovie but switched to FCE last summer. I want Photoshop. (So expensive. Boo.  ) I consider myself a vidding newbie. I also have an... um... healthy sense of self worth. In the 80's, school taught me how to type. In the 90's, my stepfather unleashed me on Usenet. Google groups, horrifyingly, record 13 year-old me explaining to the assembled Usenet masses how I am awesome and obviously mature enough to be watching The X-Files, scary gore and sex-changing Amish people or no scary gore and sex-changing Amish people. The internet has been littered with my TL;DR ever since. ETA: Also, I am moving from NYC to my native SF bay area this summer. People who live there should hang out with me. |

Hello, everyone! I'm Natalie, and I'm extremely new to vidding. My first attempt was about 9 months ago, and that got eaten up by stressful RL. I'm currently about halfway through a draft of a new vid and loving the process (Doctor Who, if you're curious).
I'm natmich on LJ, but if you visit it, you'll see that I haven't really been actively involved in any fandom since about 2004 (!!). In the last couple years of sitting on the fringes of a few fandoms, though, I have come to love the art of vidding, and could no longer settle with the vids that composed themselves in my head every time I heard a new song. So here I am, looking forward to learning from all of the lovely vidders in this community!
Outside of vidding-specifics, I graduated from college with a major in English lit about a year and a half ago, and now I work testing software for a company in the Midwest. I also bake things a lot.

Hi! I'm RadiantAerynSun (Ras for short) almost everywhere except LJ where I'm raspberry_splat (also Ras for short) and in real life, Pam. I've been vidding for almost 6 years now. Most of my vids can be found here. I came to vidding while in the Farscape fandom via friend/mentor, Leviathan. I went on to vid some Smallville (briefly as Lexcelsior), Doctor Who, BtVS and currently have a half finished Legend of the Seeker vid still sitting upon a rather 'dusty' timeline!) I use Sony Vegas which I love. I currently use 7, a rather old version, but looking forward to upgrading once I get a new lap top in the not too distant future. I am quite a slow vidder, especially when RL gets in the way which it has the last couple of years, but I yearn to get back in the vidding saddle again (I'm lucky to have nice friends though who poke me gently ). I like the idea of a forum like this, I adored the forum back in my Farscape days and think this set up is especially good for sharing and learning. It feels so welcoming here already. |
