I'm running it through Avisynth as we speak. I worked on it until late last night and even though I'm not sure I'm doing the source justice (it could have been much more awesome--ARCK!) I decided to declare it finished and save today for tweakings with Avisynth and uploading it. So it's finished, although not as finished as I would like it to be But go you for getting it finished \0/

Hooray for finishing things! It's always good to have a day where you can mess with the export. Congrats!

Ugh, Fringe vid, why can't you magically impose structure on yourself? I have about 4/5ths of it completed, and while IMO it looks cool--it's basically Olivia kicking ass to music you wouldn't really expect ass-kicking to, and I think I managed to reflect the large tempo/mood changes in the song pretty well--it also looks kind of like I just slapped some clips on the timeline with no reasoning beyond "here she needs to be running, here she needs to be punching someone, here she needs to be standing still..."
Argh.

4/5ths is a little late to start thinking about structure! Do you feel like you have to have a structure? Is it sufficient to just have the vid be ass-kicking in its ass-kicking glory?

4/5ths is a little late to start thinking about structure! Tell me about it. My thought process was along the lines of, "Slap some things on the timeline and see what happens, then revise into whatever final form that suggests," which has actually worked for me in the past but does lead to moments (or hours...or days...) where I want to beat my head against the wall. Despite that, I think it worked out for me here, too. I wound up re-doing the 15-second intro to make it more in line with the, "Olivia may look like an unassuming federal agent, but she will KICK YOUR ASS," idea that the chorus developed, and that helped so much. Before, it had just been stuff from "Entrada" that looked cool, but had no connection whatsoever to what came next. Intros. Apparently they are important. Who knew? I also swapped out several clips later on to make thematic groupings of ass-kicking, which, though it's not the most structured thing ever, at least makes me feel a lot better. ;D

In the happy afterglow of Festivids, I am all inspired for the year. I have 5 vids I want to achieve this year, and the first is my Club Vivid premiere, which I just found the perfect song for this morning. *\O/* So... onto clipping and some sort of loose storyboarding! Though this really won't have much of a narrative thread, more like an overall theme, because the source itself doesn't really have much of a narrative. *shifty eyes*

In the happy afterglow of Festivids, I am all inspired for the year. Then it's not just me! ;D All the pretty vids and the diffeent styles I've seen have gotten me really inspired and I desperately want to make another vid now. My life has become so empty without clips on a timeline. At the moment I'm tempted to start a Harry Potter vid while I'm waiting for my Sherlock DVD to get here. I wonder if "One Week" was ever vidded for Ron and Hermione. And if I should do it regardless ;D Or maybe something else. I could do my Lucas North vid! The crack Robin Hood vid! THe Homeland one! Aaaah, decisions!

Ah, haven't worked on my Sherlock vid in weeks, it feels. I really should try and get the draft finished. And then there's the Homeland vid I promised obsessive24 for guessing me correctly at the Festivids post but I haven't found a good song yet. I hope I can find a good one sometime this weekend while fevershly going through my music folders

I'm procrastinating actually editing my Club Vivid premiere by grouping all my wee subclips into categories and renaming them so they can be easily matched with my notes. I'm hoping that it will speed the vidding by being able to go to each set and more quickly find the appropriate kind of clip for each section of the song.
I find that actually getting the first few clips on the timeline is where I always stumble. Every time, I kind of close my eyes and throw something in, just to break the ice, LOL.

I haven't vidded in a few weeks. I really want to get my stupid fic done before I start vidding again, but it's the least motivating thing ever. The next vid I finish is probably my CVV one, seeing there's a deadline. Why is vidding so much easier than writing, whyyy.
It's a ridiculous situation of me so not caring about the fic at all and very few readers caring about it, but it's the end of a mammoth 44-"episode" series which I started back in 2001, and this is the very final episode that's been mouldering for 3 years already. I just really want to finish it on principle.

I'm working on three VVC vids right now, and I keep switching back and forth between them when I feel like I can't work on one of them at a particular time. It's slightly problematic when I don't feel like working on any of them, however. /o\

I've just posted a vid so I'm in that weird period of contentment but a side order of angsty feelings because I haven't decided what to tackle next.
I don't do Con vids so no deadlines at least. And I very much doubt I could ever work on more than one vid at a time I think my brain would explode.
Well done for attempting to finish that fic Nicky.

I sent off two Pros vids and one S&H for Revelcon. All three are brand new so I feel good about getting that project done.
