I am looking forward to these movies SO MUCH! Not so much because I love the books and I want to see how they translate to the silver screen (even though that it all very true) but because I have this perfect song that I want to vid for these movies and every time I hear the song it makes me so sad but I can't start vidding

Oh man, that's a long wait though if you're waiting for all of the movies! Care to divulge a bit about what you're gonna vid? I would like to vid this, and I'll have a better idea once I see the footage available. Neither of the two main ships really push my buttons though. Maybe one of the overall rebellion theme, although I don't tend to vid things that purely follow what's happening in canon, so I dunno. It'll be interesting to see how they translate all the reality-TV aspects to the movie. I hope we'll get to see a lot of footage as it is shot and edited for people watching, rather than purely from Katniss' perspective. That would be very interesting.

Ideally I should wait for all three movies but there is no way I will be able to. I am even considering making a tiny little vidlet with trailer footage when a decent length one comes out just to satisfy myself. Or I will just reuse the song every time a movie comes out and end up having three vids to the same song to the same source Hopefully by then the song will be out of my head! I actually like Katniss/Peeta as a pairing because it's kinda screwed up. But I am thinking the vid I will make will be more a character study about Katniss and the world she lives in. The song I have in mind is very sad and haunting which I am hoping will be the same tone of the movie. I would also be interested in seeing (if they do it) the footage made by the Capitol for the people watching and then compare it to what actually happens in the arena. I feel that contrast would be really helpful to the vid that's all ready playing in my head (despite the fact I have no footage so my vid is filled with scenes I made up myself).

Just finished reading the series a couple days ago. I'm already excited for the vids that are sure to be coming out!

mithborien - you're a brave woman! I always consciously make myself stop imagining vids that I would make of books if I knew a movie was coming out, because I always think the movies are never gonna give me the way a scene looks in my head and I'll just end up disappointed. Hi Rho! Hehe, what about yourself? Got any vid plans?

Hi Rho! Hehe, what about yourself? Got any vid plans? Nah. I already have enough vid ideas on my plate. Although in the middle of reading the last book, I was wondering how many vids to Muse's Uprising were gonna show up on YT at some point. ;D

It does seem like a Muse-y kind of source...

ARFGHL! If anyone is interested, the trailer has just been released: trailers.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/thehungergames/Not quite sure what to think yet but it doesn't seem too "hollywood-y" if anyone knows what I mean. Although they all seem to look very clean considering they work in the coal district But I am totally tempted to make some form of teaser vid out of this if only to satisfy my need to vid this movie to the damn song in my head.

Hey, cool! I hadn't even seen the sneak peek so this is two treats for me. ;D
Oh man, Imma cry so hard all over the place, I just know it. Every time there's a speech and a gathering anywhere in the Districts, something always happens to make me cry.
The guy they cast as Peeta really doesn't do anything for me. It's the chin and the brow, I think. Gale is hotter IMO.
They are definitely too clean. ;D
Cinna looks more masculine than I expected. I always imagined him as effete, in a nice way.
I thought her dress at the interview was supposed to be made of gems! Looks just like a red gown to me. They'd better not screw up the crazy wedding dress/mockingjay gown later.
Is that man in the white beard President Snow? Looks less villainous than I imagined. ;D

I thought her dress at the interview was supposed to be made of gems! Looks just like a red gown to me. They'd better not screw up the crazy wedding dress/mockingjay gown later. That is my biggest quibble about the trailer, which I thought was pretty decent overall, as book-to-movie stuff goes. I love the costumes in the book -- not only are they wonderfully fanciful (and I'm a huge sucker for book descriptions of dresses and outfits...reading Gone With The Wind as a pre-teen cemented that!), but they serve a legitimate purpose in promoting Katniss and in Cinna generally being awesome. So I was definitely bummed when I saw Caesar twirling in her in that red-dress-that-is-so-totally-NOT-made-of-gems. But still, I'm really excited. And hi!

Hi hi hi!! So glad to see you here chasa! Don't be a stranger.
I know, right? Hopefully being realised as a person played by Kravitz is not gonna diminish Cinna's awesomeness. But I have to say the film will have to fight a huge uphill battle because the costumes are just described too fantastically that I don't think anything real will be able to live up to them.

Oh, I completely forgot that the gown should have gems But I agree, the costumes are such an important part and they better not screw up the mockingjay gown!

They'd better also cast Finnick with someone hotter than hot, or I'll be ANGRY.

Oh yes, damn right Finnick needs to be hot!
But now I am thinking about his story and I am sad again.
Damnit, why are these stories so good and yet so sad!
