I've probably had one of the worst weekends for a while.
My beloved cat (15yr old siamese) died Friday and Saturday I was hit by a stomach bug. Trying to be positive though, today I managed food without a 100yd dash.
Sorry to hear about your hand though Nos - that sucks big time.

[...] I've never been an avid fan of FNL and I wasn't too impressed when I originally watched it, maybe because everyone and their cat had told me just how incredibly awesome it is and my hopes were too high, but when I was done with the first season I realized that I wanted to buy the DVD. It kind of...resonated with me on some level and I really grew to like it. I have the most PERFECT song for this show that I hope I can vid someday when have the other seasons on DVD. [..]( Actually, that reminds me. I totally didn't like the pilot for the show, which had a lot of hand-held camera stuff, but also for me it was difficult to follow conversations because it was more documentary style, with loads of people in the picture, lots of background noise and people often talking on top off each other. While I could see why the choose that approach from an artistic pov it made for a very disjointed viewing experience, at least for somebody who's not a native English speaker. I only continued to watch because I'd had the whole series already ... and it grew on me, just like you said. It resonated with me, rather than bowl me over with big emotions or effects or dramatics. And I also have a perfect vid song, but I still haven't watched season 4 & 5 (it's so good I want to make it last....)

Tough times are tough, but I'm hoping something good is waiting for you just around the corner. *Double-post, because I don't know how to quote two different posts in one reply without doing an a lot of pasting and typing code . *

Ever have one of those days when everything just makes you ANGRY? And it's obviously not the world because they're not acting differently to how they normally act. It's just that everything is suddenly 1,000,000x more annoying. I think I need more sleep.

Belated hugs to nos and thedothatgirl Nicky, I had that day yesterday. Ice cream helps. Today I am getting ready for my mother and son to come visit tomorrow! They will be here for a week and I am super excited. Failed planning attempts meant my kid wasn't able to visit this summer, so it's been FOREVER since I've seen him in person. I see him less and less now that he's all growed up and in college so I love when I get the chance. They don't lie when they say kids grow up TOO FAST.

Ooh, ice cream does sound good right about now.
And, hurray for visiting son! What do you plan to do? Or just hang out?

I gave away my house today I'm not kidding! I gifted it to a family trust for my son. It's the best way to protect the asset for him to inherit, now that my husband has passed away and there is a potential that one day I might remarry. I also made about 10 seconds worth of progress on my Festivid (that's good going considering how slow I vid!).

Well done on getting that sorted out! You're very proactive. Out of interest, how did you go about it? I assume a law firm would do some sort of family trust/asset gifting type package? Or did you engage on hourly fees? My parents are thinking of doing the same and want me to handle it, but I'm not involved in trust law at all and would rather they get someone who knows what they're doing. ;D
