I don't mean difficult, I don't mean challenging, I don't mean in impossibly bad taste -- I mean hopeless. Maybe the footage just isn't there, maybe the source was never released on DVD and you can only manage to even watch it through a proxy on a UK-only youtube channel, maybe the source is, you know, a book... for whatever reason, it's just not going to happen. Everyone gets them. What's yours? * I am never going to make a Drop the Dead Donkey vid to "Hammer To Fall," because see above re. youtube channel. Also, it's basically static-camera verbal humor, which vids appallingly poorly in most cases. (But look! There's a Sally verse and a Gus verse and... /smacks self) * I am never going to make a Shadow Unit vid to "Follow The Cops Back Home," for obvious reasons; in fact, I'm not even going to explain why I want to or whose POV it would be, because either you cringe when I say "last shot of The Unicorn Evils over 'I'm medicated, how are you?'" or you don't want the spoiler. * I am never going to make a Doctrine of Labyrinths vid to "Sunrise, Sunset," for the same obvious reasons; I can literally point to where the POV changes would be for the three narrators of The Mirador, and it makes me want to weep, but no one is ever going to film those babies. (Damn you, Felix Harrowgate and your sexual predilections.) And I'm positive I have others, but those are the only three drifting to mind at the moment. |

A Merope Gaunt character vid for Harry Potter, chronicling her bewitching of Tom Riddle Snr because she was hopelessly in love with him, and leading all the way through to Tom Riddle Junior growing up and murdering his father. Can't vid it because the movies cut out everything to do with the Gaunts. ;D I still imagine making up like 80% of the vid using found source, though.

I'd love to do the movie Ashita no Joe to Big Machine by Goo Goo Dolls, I can 80% see it, what I can't see are scenes to go with the love lyrics  Am also in the middle of Chicago to Sweetest Lie by Goo Goo Dolls but it has sat on the timeline for months. Idk, I lost inspiration or smth AND I am in the middle of a Broken Hearts Club Dennis/Kevin to Friday Night by Yamashita Tomohisa. That one annoys me. The vid is like how just for one night Dennis doesn't care about anything except how Kevin is there. It seemed so obvious in the movie, now is NOT working, CANNOT dig out enough footage  |

I don't know if this counts because it technically is possible I guess, but I've been dying for an E.T. vid to Katy Perry's "E.T." The only things that movie and that song have in common are the title and the fact that they are both the least sexy things I've ever seen/heard.

Oh man--I was talking about this in another thread too. I'd *love* to vid Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series. Such fascinating female characters and the *preeeeeeeetty omg pretty* Sadly, given that it involves heavy, plot-centric bdsm, I think the odds of it ever being filmed are one the negative side of zero.

I have this vid idea on the back burner for years and I'm pretty sure, I won't be able to make it. It is a AtS Cordelia Chase vid to 'Before I'm dead' by Kidney Thieves and would totally clash with the canon representation of her. Except how it awesomely fits with my fanon and it would touch on many recurring themes I did work through in my fics for her. I would need to make it dark, hopeless and fucking epic on a scale that I just don't think would go with what I have as source, even when I use external source.
