Does anybody know what to do with a broken AVI file? I've run the whole thing through vdub again and saved and now it's working slightly better, but it's still pixelated as fuck and the seeking is really draggy. And it's the only file I could find for a really important episode.

I've never been able to salvage a file that's already screwed up, myself. What episode of what show?

Spooks 5.09. I've put out an appeal to my flist for a clean file, but haven't heard back yet.

Does the file play poorly in different players? If so, then yeah, there isn't much you can do with a borked file.

Dammit. I mean, after I re-exported the whole thing I can open it, I can kind of clip from it, but the picture quality is just... not great. And the seeking issue has actually frozen vdub on me.
I suppose I'm just going to have to use it as little as possible and keep my clips short, but dammit.

Ohmygod, thank you, thank you, I owe you huge; I'd offer up firstborn children, but I'm not planning on having any of those any time this century. Thankyouthankyouthankyou.

Quick question - what's the best converter to use for PC? I've got a few stray .ppt files that refuse to resave as .avi, and I can't use them with VirtualDub to clip.
