Dates have just been announced! This year's VVC is August 16-18 at the usual location in Chicago. Who's planning to attend? I am *really* hoping to go, though my uncles-in-law might end up getting married that weekend! (Which is awesome! But I selfishly hope they choose another date.) I also live in fear that someone on my PhD committee will only be available for me to defend that Friday, even though they've all already agreed to a date in July. ( Vividcon's website, FYI) |

I'm hopeful that I can make it this year. I went in 2008, but haven't been able to make it since then...c'mon, 2013!

obsessive24, I'm impressed you go some years! Maybe eventually I'll make it to Vidukon.
My uncles in-law recently sent their save-the-date, and they're not even getting married the same month as VVC. So, assuming I'm on top of registering on time, I should be able to go!

Fray - it's my annual pilgrimage to a hotel room in Chicago. One day I will actually see America. (Only partially facetious, although I haven't been to NYC yet and I've been to VVC three times.)

Ha ha, that's pretty funny. I was hoping to make VVC into a vacation with my partner, but neither of us really knows what we'd do in Chicago other than the con (which he's not at all interested in). Not that it's a terrible place to visit, but he has limited vacation, and other locations rank higher, mostly due to proximity to family or friends. So I probably won't venture beyond the hotel much myself.  |
