I had a quick watch of Only You. I must admit I'm not very good at in-depth critique, but I've got some initial reactions. I like the use of colouring to pull together different sections of the vid. And also the use of overlays to add depth and interest. You certainly know your way around the editing suite and you have good feel for cutting with the music and matching the feel of the audio. On the constructive criticism side, I personally steer away from clips where the characters are talking. This is just personal preference, but I find it distracting when their lips are moving but you can't hear the dialogue. It's referred to as "talky-face" and I normally avoid it because I want the source to look like it was made for my music vid. Seeing them talking reminds me that actually it was something else, and I'm just borrowing it.  As a viewer it tends to throw me out of the story being created by the vid. There, that's my 2c worth, hope it is in some way helpful! |

Yes! Very helpful I def understand what your trying to say too. I think it's distracting when someone leaves clips of conversations on for too long but I never thought about cut them all out. That's something I will keep in mind. I really appreciate your out put. Thank you! |
