What it says on the tin. I'm looking for songs that start out sad or that are sad in the middle and that do a 180 in mood. I don't have specific ideas about musical genre (I have several different tentative ideas this could go with in a few different fandoms), but this is me, so the cheesier the better!

I like Peter Gabriel a lot, but I think I Grieve is a little too melancholy and not ridiculous enough for the ideas I have in mind right now--though I do love how epic it is.

I (still) might be the only person who likes this band, but it's a song about torture! And then rescue and recovery through the power of love! And it's very bouncy despite talking about dismemberment!

(No, they aren't crazy, all their songs are about a sci-fi story, and at this point in the story the protagonist was captured and well, tortured heh)

It has such a positive and uplifting end after talking about lost love.
