I don't expect any of you to be quite as obsessed with excited about this (I may have teared up a little while watching the trailer and yelled OH MY GOD over and over again) but maybe some of you are a little excited? Maybe? ;D
I just can't get over how perfect Martin Freeman is as Bilbo. I'd been following the casting rumors for Bilbo back then quite apprehensively, and every time a new name got thrown in I got more and more worried. I'm usually pretty cool with casting fictional characters because I love seeing a director's interpretations, but in this case I was surprisingly nervous. So when finally Martin Freeman's name popped up I had an instant moment of YES. YES. NO ONE ELSE CAN PLAY BILBO. HE'S PERFECT. And then, when they actually cast him...
I could see Martin clearly as Bilbo before they'd even begun filming, and then when the first pictures showed up...I don't think I've ever been this happy about a certain actor playing a certain role. He just...he just looks like my Bilbo. (Even without the wig and the pointy ears )
(Also, Richard Armitage can sing? )
By the way, I'm completely giddy over the music--I was so excited that only on my third or fourth watching I realised the big music setting in later was actually only an orchestral version of the Misty Mountain song the dwarves sing. YAY dwarves getting their own theme! W00t!
(Okay, okay. I'll shut up now.)
So. Uhm. Anyone else here likes LOTR/The Hobbit? ;D
