This is the product of the large and aggressive bunny that bit me...basically ten minutes after I heard this song. Which was two days ago. Yeah. At this point, my eyes are glazing over when I look at it, so I would love to hear thoughts from anyone and everyone.

ETA: Or you can download the new and improved version at Mediafire. (Sorry for the 108 MB file size; I was experimenting with export settings and wound up with a huge file.) It's not that different from the streaming version; just a couple timing issues fixed and one clip replaced at 2:05.

There are some clips that may have more resonance if you're familiar with the films, but basically this just tells the same story the song is telling. (Um, if that isn't obvious, please tell me because that's a problem. Aside from that, I was most interested in the musicality of the vid, and worked especially hard at vidding to the accompaniment, particularly the glockenspiel, flute, and piano.
Given that the song is about "identical snowflakes" and ballroom dancing is often about partners mirroring each other, I tried to play that up in the vid, with lots of them either dancing the same steps side by side or mirroring each other's footwork. The song also makes use of brief hesitations and delayed beats, so I tried to work with that a bit, most specifically at 0:37.
Aside from a few specific questions, I guess what I'd like to know is, do the clips and music work together to create something coherent, or does it feel disjointed? And are there any places where a transition doesn't work, the internal motion doesn't fit the music, etc.?
Specific questions:
1. So, Fred is Snowflake 1, and Ginger is Snowflake 2. In the song, Snowflake 2 appears at 0:35, but Ginger first shows up briefly at 0:07. Narratively, this bothers me a bit, but I'm hoping the absolute rightness of the motion (dusting themselves off to "crystal bones") makes up for it. Y/N?
2. The clip at 1:10 is maybe a little slow for that spot? I like the "folding" motion of the waltz they're doing, but it's sandwiched between two more energetic clips and I'm not sure the pacing works.
3. At 1:36, I chose to use part of the Piccolino because it's from the same scene as the clip right after it, and I think it works to strengthen the cause/effect relationship in the lyrics ("As long as we're together / things will turn out right"). But that clip is very happy and bouncy, and it might be nice to reflect the vulnerability in the lyrics and Ellyson's voice that begins here and gets stronger in the second half of the verse. Thoughts?
