I had only two abandoned video so far and I finished one of them finally this year, almost a year later than I started to edit this one. SO I have one actually. ;D For both of them, the music choice was the main reason I couldn't finish them, at least this is what I think now. As I loved those songs so much and I thought that they will greatly work with the subjects and the sources as I imagined, but at a certain point I felt that they are false somehow. After that I couldn't continue to work on them. I can't explain it better unfortunately. I'm still not sure if I will be able to finish the other video ever.  |

obsessive24: Yes, it's pretty shocking. All I am going by are random vids I've watched on youtube, but yeah, apparently people think its a love song. Weird. Also, I totally get vid over-saturation. I had NO idea the Drumming Song was super popular until I was halfway done with it, and went on a mad search to see if there was a decent one with the subject out there (at least on youtube), and concluded I had to finish because I couldn't find one.
side note: You vidded Rabbit Heart? Link me? Hee

I've actually not got that many that didn't make it, because normally my problem is actually getting started, so most die in the planning or clipping stage.
I did get about 1/3 of a Lake House vid done to Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. And part of an Elizabethtown one to Linger by Jonatha Brooke. But both have been deleted long ago.

I have a Broken Hearts Club...thing that has been sitting on my external for months, just can't find enough clips of Dennis/Kevin ambiguous or def more than friends. There seemed to be LOADS in th movie but now I sit down to vid, I can't find enough...

Okay, so I've come to accept that I'm probably never going to finish my Misfits vid for Kelly. Or if I do then it will be a very different vid to this one, since there's a whole lot more source and character development since I started it. Plus this was started back before I figured out that planning actually helps you finish vids, rather than just throwing pretty things at the timeline. I really really wanna make a Kelly vid someday, but this isn't it. Here are the two main chunks of what I have. They're hosted in my dropbox, so the links probably won't stay around for a long time. Gnat - I second wanting to see more of the Kelly vid. And since there's not much on the timeline just yet, I reckon the original concept probably can be stretched to contain recent developments. I love that the existing bits are really Kelly-centric and attitude-y, and would love to see the black spaces filled up with her interactions with the other misfits, and perhaps the overall vid development head toward showing how she's so much more than the Chavvy front that she puts up as almost a shield sometimes.

I really do like most of the bits I have for this, scrappy as they are. I'm just having trouble seeing a bigger picture considering the more recent character changes. I think it can be done though, maybe. I'll need to go over the song again and make sure I still want to use it. How about I wait until Season 3 has finished and then take another look at this vid? I hate vidding things when there's new episodes currently coming out. I do definitely want to make a Kelly vid of some kind, and I love the kind of vicious but sweet sounds of this song.

I've ditched a ton of vids over the years. Sometimes I'll come back to them a year later and suddenly finish them, but more often than not they sit incomplete on my harddrive, the source clips long since removed. There are a few vids unfinished because I stopped using the video editing software I'd begun to vid them on and I don't like to start things from scratch that I've already spent time on -- and I can't begin to imagine using that software for the length of a vid again. My creative mind is very finnicky, demanding and lazy at the same time. I can't just sit down and vid something that "needs to be vidded" anymore. I've given up all control to the id. A few vids have lost their momentum for me that way.
