Oh, and do we dare bring up the Stupid Vidding Moment that I'm sure has happened to many of us? There have been so many times when I have scanned through my clips (and even the original source), again and again, looking for that great clip I remember that would work perfectly in a particular spot on the timeline... only to realize, after desperately hunting for far too long, that the clip doesn't actually exist and that my brain invented it as some vidding fever dream. Eyup. I spent hours on this once.

Read more: vidpub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=vidding&action=display&thread=25&page=2#ixzz1fQFlRcxdOooooh! I do this all the time. I did this in a big bad way with my Festivid this eyar and realized after I hd already put in about 30 seconds worth of clips that it could not structurally work becuase there were no scenes of {redacted}. My most painful moment of stupid was when I trying to test a hard drive and managed to fry 3 other hard drives before realizing that the problem was a faulty plug. Also - When I finished If You Were In my Movie. I tried to back everything up - and copied the empty back up folder to my main drive thus losing the whole damn thing. Also I misspelled "tecchnical" in the credits and didn't catch it for two years. I could go on for 20 pages about the evil of the "batch trimmer" function on Premiere. I don't think it even exists anymore thank God.

My favorite is exporting, finding a minor error, exporting the fixed version using the same file name, and finding the problem not fixed. It always takes me like twenty tries to remember that some programs seem to have this issue, and I need to give the second file a different name at least initially so that it will export what's actually there and not what it exported last time.

*raises hand*
Also, my Stupid Vidding Moment seems to just keep repeating itself:
1. Open VirtualDub. 2. Pull up episode I want to clip. 3. Look for clip. 4. Make clip. 5. Save clip as .avi. 6. COMPLETELY FORGET TO TURN THE $#%&ING AUDIO OFF.
Repeat ad nauseum.

You guys ever do that thing where you post a vid, and then a few days later, you watch it and see one obvious flaw and so you go back and replace the clip and go through the whole re-encoding, re-uploading thing all over again, even though you know the odds of anyone ever downloading it again and noticing are almost nil? Yeah.

I can do you one better: I once re-uploaded a vid just because I had an idea for a tiny little change that wasn't a flaw at all and it's highly unlikely that people would even have noticed the difference.

Oh, you guys. What matters is that you felt better about it afterwards. ;D

Along the same lines as killa's comment: do you guys ever rewatch your vids and suddenly see aaaall the flaws you hadn't noticed before? And really silly things, too, like, "I wish that clip was a frame shorter! DAMN!" ;D
