Ok, so I guess I should post a video or two just to give you guys an idea. I don't tend to be too effects heavy in my videos for 2 reasons. 1) I simply don't know how to do a lot of the cool effects I see in others videos, nor do I have the time right now to try and figure them out. 2) I find that most of the time, too many effects really pull away from the story you're trying to tell.....which is really the entire point of the video. So, this is a video I made a few months ago, and I'd say it's probably not the one I'm most proud of, but it's one of my favorites. It's also a Janeway/Chakotay video, which is always a challenge for me, because I don't ship them. But a ton of people do. Dead InsideThe other one I'll post is because it *is* my favorite. It was actually a request from one of my friends, and they usually don't turn out as well as I feel this one. For me, and fans of the show, the highlight is in knowing that every clip is in sequential order, so it gives a great view of Janeway from beginning of series to end. (It was also the first video I figured out how to do in widescreen. ) Go One More - A Janeway Epic

I love the way you use motion and the way you express musicality, it's really great to watch. The only thing I didn't much care for were the flashes. IMO they didn't add much to the visual flair of the vid and they gave me a bit of eye fatigue because of the frequency of use. I feel like you have such an instinctive grasp on compelling editing that I would love to see a vid that focuses on that, rather than drawing attention away with additional flashes and effects.

Thanks for your honesty! I don't remember entirely my purpose for the flashes, but I think I was just trying to get away from the straight cuts, or fades that I always seem to use. Though, after reading your comments, I went back and watched it and did realize I used faaaaar too many flashes. So thank you for the input!
