I'm completely unfamiliar with the source but I enjoyed this vid. I liked the undulating speed of the cuts and the images, the almost constant motion, and just how closely tied to the music the whole thing is. It's not a very fast song but for the most part, the moments with fast cuts or speeded-up clips didn't feel out of place; it felt like part of a natural flow between slow and fast. Isn't Stargate a fairly static, hard-to-vid source? If it is, I'm really impressed. My favorite moment was the "quiet" at 1:27. I found the words during the opening piano part a little heavy-handed but, from an aesthetic pov, I enjoyed how they appeared and moved with the notes.
Once the lyrics started, I found it much harder to pay attention to the onscreen words and thought they sometimes distracted from the vid's more interesting elements. Also, I like the idea behind how the end credits are presented but feel they could have been a bit shorter.
Based on the beginning, I thought the vid was going to be a study of the characters/relationships the words were describing and I'm not sure what the old man and woman had to do with the rest of the vid. But, maybe the connection between the opening and the rest is obvious for someone who's seen the show.

Wow, thanks for the concrit! Also, yes - Stargate is fairly static and when it isn't, it's usually hectic battle scenes and lots of running. *grin* I appreciate you taking the time to leave me your review.
Things I probably should have said in the original post *fp*:
The entire vid is from Daniel's point of view, after he's ascended to a "higher plane of existence", broken the rule of non-interferance to save his friends, and been summarily De-ascended back into mortal flesh & blood 1 year later. Perhaps as a punishment, he is also sent back with no memory of who he is, and has to work to regain who he was and what his function on/relationships with his team are.
The opening scenes are pages from his history. 1) His parents' deaths. 2) His once-girlfriend who was infected with a sentient parasite and then tried to kill him. 3) The woman from Stargate the movie who 1st gave him the opportunity to translate the instructions for use of the Stargate 4) his abandonment by his grandfather, who refused to take him from the orphanage after the death of his parents and 5) the kidnapping of his wife by yet another sentient parasite
I hope that helps, but it most likely is very confusing. *laugh*
