Wow so all this time I thought I had the ratio right; I didn't. Thank you eunice for doing these!! I am learning so much. I love the pub . Guess I need to look into getting AMVapp and how to install the avisynth plug in for Premiere. One dumb question.....what problems is interlacing causing? Is it lines in the vid? I never noticed any or had anyone comment about them but I'll go check for them.

jansam-- Oh, yay! I am so glad they've been helpful to you! Aspect ratio is a complete pain, almost everyone struggles with getting it right/understanding it. And most of the time it's not overly noticeable, so while it is good to get it right, I would not stress about past vids as long as they aren't super stretchy or squashy.
Yeah, you get lines and jumpy playback with interlacing. Most recent sources and nearly all movies are progressive so you don't have to deal with it...it's primarily with older tv shows that it becomes an issue.

Oh, does interlacing cause jumpy playback as well as the lines? I'd always thought that was to do with framerates.
